Chocolate Macaroon Recipe

Bake my chocolate macaroon recipe and you can also enjoy these mouthwatering chocolate cookies. Bake a large batch, wrap in giftboxes and treat friends and family to ejoy through Advent or at any time of the year. In fact who can resist chocolate macaroons?

Chocolate Macaroons


You will need:

250 g sugar
70 g finely grated good quality chocolate
250 g finely grated almonds
juice from 1/2 lemon
4 egg whites
baking paper wafers (50 mm) known as Oblaten in Germany

Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Carefully fold all the other ingredients into the egg white mixture.

Using a teaspoon, carefully put about a teaspoon of the chocolate macaroon mix onto the baking paper wafers. Make sure that you leave enough space around the edge as the cookies will spread during baking. Bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees C for about 10-15 mins.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.
