German Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

Here is an easy oatmeal cookie recipe. Known as Haferflockenkekse in Germany. Easy German oatmeal cookies to be enjoyed at Christmas and all year round. Drizzle with chocolate and add chopped mixed fruits to decorate the cookies if liked.

Oatmeal Cookies

To make about 60 cookies you will need:

125 g soft butter
200 g sugar
pinch of salt
1 egg
80 g chopped almonds
90 g oats
80 g flour
1 tsp baking powder

Mix the butter, salt, sugar and egg together until creamy.

Add the chopped almonds, oats, flour and baking powder and mix well.

Using the help of 2 teaspoons take small heaps of the oatmeal cookie mixture and place on a lined baking tray. Make sure that you leave enough space between each cookie as they will spread.

Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 190 degrees C for about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Remove carefully (they may break up while still hot) from the baking tray and leave to cool.
