German Dampfnudeln Recipe

I'm sure I did not spell that correctly. That is just how it sounded when my granny would say it. This is a somewhat sweet bread roll that is "fried" in salt water. She would serve it with potato soup and it would take her all day long to make this meal. We only got it on special occasions. She would make the dough, let the bread rise and then fry it. The end result was a somewhat sweet bread roll, with a golden brown, salty, crispy bottom. SO DELICIOUS!!!!

Hi I just wrote in about this recipe, but my grandmother would make a vanilla sauce also in the frying pan after frying the bread and pour the warm sweet sauce over them! To die for! Do you have the recipe I am going crazy trying to find it?
