German Schneeballs /Snowballs

I a friend who has spent sometime in Germany and wants

a recipe for schneeball translated to snowballs. She states thay are something like a funnel cake but are fried in a ball shaped mold. she was apparently in the Rothenburg Germany area. If you please help with a recipe I certainly appreciate it I can be reached at maryschram@charter.net.
