German Bacon Cake

I remember my grandmother making this for my grandfather on his birthday each and every year they were alive. I know she called it "German Bacon Cake" but if I remember correctly it was round and resembled a biscuit or bread type food...I do remember she fried bacon and crumbled it and also added caraway seeds to it but it wasn't a rye bread and there was no frosting but it was delicious and I cannot remember if she used yeast to make it or not...any help I can get from anyone would really be appreciated. Unfortunately my grandparents and parents have been gone for quite a few years and the recipe has been lost...thanking you for any help you can give
