Coconut meringue cookies

My Oma made these cookies for me all the time. She has passed away and was very ill for a long time before she passed. Unfortunately I never learned from her how to make all the treats I loved so much. Thankfully you have posted many of my favorites and I have begun some of the family tradition again. I'm hoping you can help me with one more :-)

These cookies melt in your mouth and taste very much like coconut. From what I remember she used to cook them while we were in bed. I can't remember if that was so we didn't eat them all or if it was because she didn't want them to deflate in the oven.

Hi, I am American and have been living in Germany for 20 years now. I think the cookie you are looking for is called Kokosmakronen, they are a popular christmas cookie here.
