Kids Christmas recipes need to be quick and easy to make. Christmas cookies from Germany are easy recipes for kids to make.
Your kids will enjoy baking and eating these meringue cookies. My recipe makes about 60 cookies.
4 egg whites
200g fine white sugar
1 heaped teaspoon cream stiffener or cream stabilizer
(this is a German speciality item that is used to make cream stiff known as Sahnesteif)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until creamy. Mix the sugar, cream stiffener and cinnamon and slowly beat one spoon at a time into the egg white mixture.
Put the cream mass into a piping bag and pipe small mounds onto baking paper lined baking tray.
Bake the German meringue cookies in a preheated oven at 120 degrees C for about 35 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the baking tray and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
