Hauc a brie. (Not sure of spelling)

It was a sweet milk soup/pudding with sweet dough pieces served in it. Mom said it was German, but I can't find anything about it. It had a sweet vanilla flavor and we ate it hot. I believe some ingredients would be eggs, sugar, vanilla, cornstarch or flour. She steamed the milk mixture then added the sweet dough and continued to simmer or steam until it was very tender.


Is anyone familiar with this dish?
